If you could only pick one person who would you say inspires you the most?
That's a tough one, Alice Paul springs to mind as she suffered force feeding and electroshock therapy in her fight to get women the right to vote, Frida Kahlo that showed there was beauty in her pain and agony, but for sure it would be my grandfather that came to the US illegally by swimming across the Rio Grande. After he did this he lived on the streets until he was taken in by this old woman who taught him how to read by using the Bible. Once he got on his feet he brought my grandmother and aunt over, legally because my grandmother always made sure everyone knew that. Lol. He later became a minister, built a church that is still around in my hometown, opened up his own gardening business that he worked until he turned 70, he raised a family of five on that salary. He was a great man that taught me to always seek joy and to enjoy life because it was short. One of my favorite things he'd say was: Dominate your fears don't let your fears dominate you.
Favorite party or gay bar when you're not workin?Definitely Rhonda or my monthly brunches at my house that I have with my college friends at my house.
Is there a lot of behind the scenes drama working as a hostess in the club scene?I mean this is kind of an obvious question, and there are plenty of people willing to spill the T on issues like this, but I'm growing and starting to feel that only small minds focus on small minute issues that at the end of the day don't really matter. Telling about the back story isn't something I find interesting because I feel what I want to do with my future is far more interesting.
Do you really work at the DMV?Legally cannot answer.
If you could change anything about Weho gay scene what would you do differently? This idea that you need to be the biggest Bitch or have the biggest entourage otherwise you're nobody. How about we start volunteering and start making the community something valuable and not disposable. You have great groups like Life Group LA, WEHO Cheer, WEHO Elite, and others, but let's help out people instead of bringing them down. For instance for me this Valentine's Day, I'm excited that my friends and I will be volunteering at the Midnight Mission homeless shelter, people are homeless year round not just during Christmas and the same goes for people that just need any type of assistance. How can we have a campaign about NoH8 when we are the first to throw it?
