Vintage WeHo: Before & After the Standard Hotel

Top: This is the view of Wallace and Dorothy Reid's Hacienda Park home that tourists in the 1920s would have seen from buses on the Strip.

Bottom: The house was torn down by the 1960s, when this building went up. It was originally the Thunderbird Motel, which billed itself as "the first motel on the Sunset Strip." It's the Standard Hotel, 8300 Sunset, now.
