As locals who like to go out we're finding it increasingly difficult to do so.
Why should we have to:
* Spend $20 on cabs
* Spend $10 on Parking
* Spend $65 on frivolous tickets
* $1000's on DUI tickets
* Risk being Mugged
Just to grab a drink in our own town!?!
Anyways with John D'Amico's new seat on the West Hollywood City Council it's time to form ideas that will get this city working for us instead of against us!
If you forget to turn your wheels you can get a ticket with in 30 seconds but if you walk down the street with your iPhone4 outside of your pocket you're bound to get mugged in 60 seconds. Safety has become a major issue in this town. Coupled with parking tickets & other financial liabilities going out in Weho just ain't what she used to be!
So how do we fix this issue.... SIMPLE!

The trolley system should be kept simple with trolley's running from dusk until 3am:
Trolley #1 (Lady Gaga) - Should travel West on Santa Monica Blvd ---> North on Doheney ---> East on Sunset & South on La Brea #loop
Trolley #2 ( Dolly Patron) - Should travel East on Santa Monica ---> South on La Brea ---> West on Melose & North on San Vicente. #loop
Is this too much to ask for when the City of West Hollywood is spending over $100,000 on a book fair that yeilds zero $$ in return! We think not!
The Weho Trolley concept would easily produce ad revenue from the music & alcohol industry & we could even charge the riders a buck or $2 for gas.

I LURVE this idea! I wood love to take thsi trolly get MY drink on and safely get a-round town! Ecspcially when my new favorite cruse fest place opens up-the weho Library! Yepp child imma be cruiszn them bath rooms to NO end!! imma do my sit n crack! They have it silly. It's already running 24/7. It costs $1.50. It runs up and down SMB every 20 minutes all night and more frequent during the day. It's faste than a silly trolley. It's called a bus. Most metropolitan cities around the world don't have a problem with them. Get out of your car and get on the bus. If you don't want to take a bus now, the likelihood of you boarding a trolley I'm afraid would be next to nil.

The trolley idea sounds fun but the above person is right, what would the trolley accomplish that the buses don't already? I feel like it would just end up being another place for the homeless to sleep like they do on the buses :-/
yeah this really is a strange post...instead of a 24 hr 1.50 system you want a $2 ends at 3am method? Do you know WeHo was just named the most walkable city in the state? Push your car off a cliff. Be sober at 2am to get home safe? just saying...

This sounds like a great idea. Despite having the MTA, other cities have their own shuttle services that go into neighborhoods in a loop to provide more convenience and safety. Not only does it make it safer, but puts money into the city. The only cons about it would be having the homeless ride on them and pissing in them at their own accord. This is workable.

The difference is, you couldn't pay me nor half the people in this city to ride the bus, NO WAY NO HOW!!!
The "local" trolley in Laguna Beach was built on the same concept as this idea and it works seamlessly. A local trolley would be a perfect alternative to driving drunk, cabbing, and riding the not so welcoming bus.

What kind of idiot would oppose an extra means of transportation. Most cities have multiple option and if West Hollywood wants to be a real city what's the harm given all the stupid things we spend money on like a million dollars for an elevator in the Library. Only a fool would publicly oppose the concept.
